Scottish Rite NMJ touts increased membership numbers

Today the Scottish Rite Northern Masonic Jurisdiction announced in an email that Membership numbers in the jurisdiction are increasing, thanks in part to the Path forward program.

The email stated that as of May 7, 2017, 2112 had taken the fourth degree, and 1645 Brothers have become thirty-second degree Masons. This was a modest increase compared to 2017 when only 1708 new Scottish Rite Masons were created in total.

Valleys across the jurisdiction have shown growth in the last year also.  According to the email

98 Valleys reported new members

Ten states exceeded their2017 totals

57 valleys have met or exceeded their2017 totals

20 valleys are less than five members from their 2017 totals

Four valleys which brought in no members last year brought in new members

Since Sovereign Grand Commander David A. Glattly assumed office, he has been working to make the Rite more relevant for today’s membership including such moves as rebranding the Jurisdiction and updating the magazine and adding online content.

Personally, I am glad to see the increases and hope the body stays on the “rite” track.
